Agent Setup
Universal cross-platform installer bundling standardized AI agent skills, plugins, MCP configurations, and system rules into a one-line curl or PowerShell command.
Why it exists
Setting up AI coding assistants across new machines, WSL environments, and remote instances typically requires cloning multiple repositories, manually moving skill directories, registering MCP servers, and configuring system instructions across hidden folders. I wanted a single, reproducible one-liner to bootstrap my entire agent environment in seconds.
How it works
- Bundles full agent configurations across four layers:
- Skills: Capabilities and commands deployed to `~/.agents/skills/`.
- Rules: System directives and behavioral bounds in `
/.agents/rules/`, `/AGENTS.md`, and `~/GEMINI.md`. - MCP Servers: Model Context Protocol definitions in `
/.gemini/antigravity-cli/mcp/` and `/.agents/mcp.json`. - Plugins: Runtime extensions in `~/.gemini/config/plugins/`.
- Provides instant cross-platform bootstrap scripts:
- Linux / macOS / Git Bash: `curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/whysooraj/agent-setup/main/install.sh | bash`
- Windows (PowerShell): `irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/whysooraj/agent-setup/main/install.ps1 | iex`
- Automates archive retrieval, safe extraction, directory structuring, and permission management.
What happened
Eliminated environment drift and manual setup overhead when switching between personal laptops, university workstations, and cloud environments. Complete agent environment initializes in under 5 seconds.
What I'd change
I'd add selective installation flags (`--only skills`, `--skip-mcp`) and release checksum validation for zero-trust environments.
